Skyline Trail
Skyline Trail
Located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, the Skyline Trail is aneasy eight-kilometre hike through the boreal forest, through meadows, and up onto a cliff. On that cliff, you can watch the sun set over the Gulf of the St. Lawrence and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. If you enjoy wildlife viewing, you just might just be lucky enough to encounter eagles overhead, moose in the forest, and even whales out in the water!

June In Review

Kite Flying
Now that temperatures are up and we can safely say that spring has finally arrived, ALCC students and staff were eager to take advantage of the clear skies and breezy conditions to try their hand at flying kites! We are fortuante that our school happens to be near a rather sizeable hill, and thus didn’t have to wander too far to find the perfect wind to launch our bright, colourful kites into the sky.

Sea Turtle Centre
The Sea Turtle Centre is a micro-museum dedicated to the conservation of endangered sea turtles, particularly the leatherback species that frequent Canadian waters. Operated by the Canadian Sea Turtle Network, this interactive space offers visitors an engaging experience through educational exhibits, real turtle artifacts, and hands-on activities suitable for all ages. ALCC students learned a lot about these endangered sea creatures!

Scavenger Hunt
In the heart of Downtown Halifax, the Public Gardens provides a peaceful retreat with its carefully designed Victorian-style layout. Since opening in 1867, the gardens have featured a wide array of vibrant flower beds, towering trees, a scenic pond, and elegant fountains and statues throughout. This June, our students explored all of these highlights by taking part in a fun , friendly, and competitive scavenger hunt!

Multicultural Day Fair
ALCC celebrated the last day of classes before the summer term with a multi-cultural fair, celebrating other countries and cultures all over the world. Turning our school into a temporary travel hotspot, students and community visitors learned all about geography, traditions, and life in general in countries in six different continents through trivia, crafts, and games. We really do have the whole world at our fingertips!
